[SUMM] FRU error when booting

This has been an ongoing issue, with still no real fix.

I got only one answer from the list, but ended up logging a call with
DEC. They also suggested that I upgrade to DecEvent 2.8. I did this
and still no luck.

They then had me check for a console environement variable called
fru_table which should be set to "on". This variable did not exist and
the firmware would not keep my created variable after rebooting. We
finally decided that my firmware revision level (5.0) was to blame.
Possibly, the ability to use the FRU table is not built in until v5.1.
They are checking into that as they had an Alpha2100A with VMS that was
using DEC Event correctly on the 5.0 firmware revision.
