Managers,

The original question:

>We are preparing to upgrade from HSZ40s to HSZ50s. Are the licenses still
>required for RAID, write back cache, & mirroring. If so will the HSZ40
>licenses work & do we enter them the same way?

I received 2 responses from the following:

Rodrigo Poblete
Larry Clegg
Ken Bendall

They told me that the license was still required, but came with the HSZ50
software. I already had the HSOF 5.2 software, but could not find anything
for certain that mentioned licensing for RAID, write back cache, &
mirroring. I then called 1-800-STORWORK & they told me that the HSZ40
licenses would work.

Well...I installed the HSZ50 controllers Saturday & found that I had to do
absolutely nothing for these options. After starting the controllers with
the HSOF 5.2 cards inserted, I did a "sho this full" & saw the following:

Licensing information:
RAID (RAID Option) is ENABLED, license key is VALID
WBCA (Writeback Cache Option) is ENABLED, license key is VALID
MIRR (Disk Mirroring Option) is ENABLED, license key is VALID
