Dear Sir:
Lately when i checked out the /stand directory on my Unix box I saw
these files in there:
unix unix.sav vmunix vmunix.old
I am curious about the role of vmunix in the big picture of unix.
I know that the current kernel of my system runs off of /stand/unix.
When we rebuild kernel the older version of the kernel gets saved in
unix.sav. But what exactly is vmunix or vmunix.old doing. Can u help me
figure this out?
Thanks
