TZ87 impersonating Exabyte !!

Managers,
This is a weird one !

I recently had returned from one of our customers a
TZ87N
which we loaned for a short period to use on his Alpha
2100.

When I do a "show device" at the >>> prompt with the
unit as the only
tape drive on the bus, the Inquiry Data comes back as
"Exabyte 8505".

                How can this happen ?

It appears that somehow the Inquiry Data in the tape
drive has
been changed. I assumed that this could only be done
via
a firmware update. It looks like someone has been
playing silly
                b.....'s.

My question is how do I get it back to it's original
self. I guess the
obvious is to pay my friendly Compaq/Digital Engineer to
come and
                update the firmware.

I have had a careful look at SCU and it appears there is
no function
                to change/patch the Inquiry data.

Any SCSI/hardware GURUS who can help?

Thanks in advance,

John WELSH.
