As explained in detail by Kris and others I had to set the
ethernet board to twisted pair in the following manner:
1) At the console prompt show the type of board(s) with
>>> sh ew*
I found out it is ewa0 only.
2) Show the options of ewa0_mode with
>>> set ewa0_mode
3) Choose Twisted-Pair
>>> set ewa0_mode Twisted-Pair
4) Reboot and that's all.
Concerning to the VXT2000+ terminal, it is working now without any
human intervention.
Cheers from the Worldchampsland (almost),
Oyanarte

We have a AlphaStation 400 4/233 with DU 3.2 and are moving our subnet
from thin wire to twisted pair cables. We have both AUI, which was
working properly, and RJ-45 connectors in the back of the box. We have
tried to connect the new RJ-45 but the network board is not responding
apparently. The new cables have been checked. Is it necessary any adjustment
to make the transition from AUI to RJ-45 ?
Something alike is happening with our VXT2000+ x-terminal.
