My question:

Hi managers,
Does anybody know how many years before replacement of battries
in Storage Works HSZ raid controllers?
Is there a test to see if the battery is good or not?

Thanks.

        HSZ40, HSZ50 or HSZ70?

I think the batteries for the HSZ50 and HSZ70 are the same
and should be replaced every two years. The HSZ40 batteries
have a poor reputation and modern versions of the firmware
have period power checks they perform on the batteries. If
you have an old version of HSOF, upgrade.

Originally the batteries were advertised as having a life of 5 years. Then
it was discovered, the hard way, the batteries were only good for about
one year. The batteries shipping as of spring/summer of 1997 have a life
of two years.

Thanks for your quick response!!
