Sendmail-8.8.8 on Digital UNIX 4.0D

Hello Managers,

since we upgraded from 3.2D to 4.0D we sometimes have sendmail-8.8.8
logging error messages like

Jul 16 18:22:34 smtp1 sendmail[28057]: SAB28057: SYSERR(root): errbody:
I/O error: Interrupted system call

e.g. for mail being addressed to non-existing hosts or users.

Has anybody else seen this behaviour? Is there even a fix available?
