Richard Sharpe <sharpe_at_ns.aus.com> tells me the fix will be in the
beta5 release of samba 2.0.0 and also in the production version.
There appears to be an additional problem due to a bug in the DU Bourne
shell (I'm using v4.0Dp2, but the bug is probably in virtually all DU
versions). A quick workaround is to make smbtar a Korn shell script. The
symptom is that smbtar complains there is no server or service when in fact
these have been specified.
Thanks much to Richard, who worked hard tracking this problem down.
