Hi,
Still have my problem, seems to be a hardware failure. DEC support has been
contacted. Here's Tom (Dr. Tom Blinn [tpb_at_doctor.zk3.dec.com]) response
(extracts) :

Yes, if your CDROM is supposed to be /dev/rz5 and SCSI bus 0 fails during
probe, then you've got a SERIOUS hardware problem and you need to get the
hardware working. NONE of the disks on that bus are accessible.

Thanks to :

Original post :

Hello world,
A new problem on a 4100 box with DU4.0b : I wanted to mount a cdrom as
usual on my device rz5c and, I've got the message :
/dev/rz5c on /cdrom: No such device or address
Strange, because I don't have changed anything from the last time I've used
the cdrom drive two days ago, only a nightly reboot...Looking at uerf, it
seems to report a problem in the hardware configuration (extracts) :

pci1 at mcbus0 slot 5
psiop0 at pci1 slot 1
Loading SIOP: script c0000100, reg
_7effe00, data c000c080
* > here _sim_init() reported FAILURE - Retry. psiop0
not probed psiop in slot 1 not configured. tu0: DECchip 21140: Revision:
1.2 tu0 at pci1 slot 2 tu0: DEC TULIP (10/100) Ethernet
_Inte
Everything else seems to be working fine, but how could I check a little
bit more my config ? I cant't reboot to see startup messages immediatly of
course !

JD
