2100 obsolescence?

Hi Managers,

At my site, we have several AS2100 boxes
installed and they have been working great
for long, fortunately.
Matter is that according to info found in
DEC-Compac Internet pages these boxes are
considered "OBSOLETE".
I would like to know what "obsolete"
means.
I wonder what problem this could bring us
in the near future and also in the long
term, mainly regarding parts such as controllers,
disks, cables, cards, power supplies,
I/O modules,etc. because, speaking
frankly I don't have any other reason at all
to upgrade my 2100s..
I'll appreciate any info,"rumour" :-), on this
Thanks in advance
