Hi,
I have an Alpha 4100 running DEC Unix V3.2F (Rev 69.73) and Oracle 7.3.2.1.
Firmware Rev: 5.2
the Box has completely hung but is still pingable. I can't telnet to the
box and the console has completely locked up also.
I need to know if there is a way I can bring down the box cleanly for a
reboot without loosing the Oracle Database (~30GB of data). I can't get
into the machine to even sync the file system. Unfortunately we don't have
any dumb terminals to try to get in through the serial port.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to safely reboot the system without
loosing the data in the database or an idea of how to get into the system.
