I have a AS2100 running 4.0D. Starting two weeks ago, with no changes to
the OS, the machine is shutting down at random times. There is nothing in
/var/adm/messages and no hints of a problem when I do a uerf -R. No
panics, nothing.

It looks as though someone unplugged it. It happened once while I was on
the console, one minute I'm in a dtterm window, next second it's the black
screen for one second then the blue bootup sequence.

I have checked the AC power cables and had our facilities people check the
branch circuit for problems. Weird thing is my PC is attached to the same
protected outlet as the 2100 (we have protected outlets which feed from the
building UPS system for our computers) is not having the problem, so I do
suspect the AC power source.

Any ideas?

The responses were almost exclusively about bad power supplies. Turns out
the CPU board was at fault.

Thanks for all the responses.
