Hi managers,
thanks to
Reginald Beardsley <rhb_at_fastlane.net>
Joe Fletcher <joe_at_meng.ucl.ac.uk>
Maik Bachmann <maik_at_ironmaik.com>
Reginald proposed to choose an rz29 label, edit it, and to test all
combinations of parameters in order to find a set that was close to
1/2 the real cylinder count and which wasted as little space at the
end as possible.
Joe said that there might be a problem with inetd and routing which
causes the machine to hang up completely.
Maik told me to read the Release Notes of DU4.0D because ddr.dbase
and the SCSI interface have changed completely.
Here my original posting:

Unfortunately, none of those proposal solved the problem. I replaced the
new ethernet card by the old FDDI card to get back to the old status.
However, the system now runs only with 10Mbit/sec instead of 100.
Anyway, I think that /etc/ddr.dbase has not been the problem. It seems
that there is a conflict between the ethernet card and the SCSI
controller. Maybe an interrupt problem.
