Hi managers,
we have an Alpha Server 400 (4/166) running DU4.0D
with 2 external disks and 1 tape drive.
In order to get a faster ethernet connection we replaced
our 10Mbit/sec FDDI card
DEC DEFPA (PDQ) FDDI Interface
by an 100Mbit/sec ethernet card
DEC TULIP (10/100) Ethernet Interface
Now the machine runs up normally for between 10 to 60 minutes,
then it hangs up completely. The only recourse is the reset button.
One finds a bunch of the following error messages:
vmunix: svcktcp_reply: mbuf_send returned 32
vmunix: rfs_dispatch: sendreply failed
In a second server of this kind everything works properly.
However, this server does not have any external devices.
So, might there be an interrupt conflict between the SCSI controller and
the ethernet card?
Thank you,
Andreas
