I must first say Thank You and my summary for the
Password snafu will be shortly coming.
I unfortunately have a more pressing problem.
I have a Digital Unix system 8400 5/625 with DU
4.0D and Patchkit 3 that has stopped twice now in
about a week.
I think I should explain that by "stopped" I mean
that it just quits. Input no longer, Output no
longer, disks quit blinking, and Plug into the
console if you wish, NOTHING (except ping) will
respond. (rsh, rcp, login, rlogin, etc. NADA) We
have this morning attempted to get the box to
crash so that it would show us memory, but again
it just stops, and when rebooted comes up just
like nothing went wrong.
Any one out there seen this or anything close to
this before?
We have DEC mission critical helping us, but
without any files to send to them (crash dumps
etc.) We are running around looking for ANYTHING (
Power flux, temp flux, Voltage reg's You name it?)
