Print filters and /etc/services

I am trying to get the print filters working with network printers. I have tried the

:lp=_at_host/service

where I have the hostname as being the name of the printer, but I have tried using printer
for the service name, as in port 515, the lpd port. This apparently does not work. I get
the accounting information, but nothing gets to the printer. I assume that what is
happening is that _at_host/service does it business as stream, or reverse telnet, as opposed
to lpd. I cannot find anything in the release notes or docs to tell me that. If I need
to have it doing the reverse telnet, fine. I have a couple of printers where this is not
an option, so if I cannot do it with lpd, then I cannot. Does anyone know?
