Thanks for the answers to :

Guru's

Does anyone know if the RAID Array 200 EISA controller can handle 9Gb
drives. The system is configured in a Alpha1000 running DEC UNIX V4.0B
and currently has a mixture of 2Gb & 4Gb drives but i need to replace
them to increase the size.

Any help would be great!

Thanks to Peter Reynolds for :
I believe that the EISA version will support RZ40-VA's, if the firmware
is
up to scratch. The other thing to bear in mind is that there is an upper
limit to the size of raid set you can create on these controllers. I did
an
install for Origin in the UK at Croydon, and I was not able to make 7
RZ40's
into 1 raid set as it exceeded the single unit size limit. We ended up
with
one 4 member and one 3 member units.

Thanks to Bryan Lavelle for :
9 Gig drives aren't supported on the KZESC, sorry. That doesn't mean
they
won't work, but it does mean you are on your own if there are problems.

So I can use the 9Gb drives as long as the RAID set is less than 32Gb.
Not a problem. BUT the disks must be the narrow SCSI type.

Thanks again
