Samba and PC permissions...

Can't seem to find an answer to this one in the Samba docs, so thought
I'd hit the list. We're running samba 1.9.18P10 on a DU box, and using
it to serve files and printer queues to a mixed network of PC's, Mac's,
etc. I've noticed that the 'create mask' setting does not appear to
apply to directories, i.e., from a PC mounting a samba share, 'new
folder' creates a folder with permissions 0755, regardless of the create
mask settings. Saved files don't have the same problem, being created
with the 'create mask' setting specified in the share config. Is there
a workaround for this, or am I the only one seeing this behaviour? As
always, all suggestions gratefully accepted. Thanks.
