Hello!
I searched the archives and found all sorts of usefull information, but
none of it seems to work for me. I have a HP LaserJet 5MP with an external
JetDirect box that I wish to print to. My DU 4.0b box has the following
printcap entries :
lp1|1|hp:\
:lf=/usr/adm/lp1err:\
:lp=:\
:mx#0:\
:rm=hplj5.vsc.edu:\
:rp=text:\
:sd=/usr/spool/lpd1:
lp1 goes direct to the hp jet direct box. In lpc I see :
lp1:
printer is on remote host hplj5.vsc.edu with name text
queuing is enabled
printing is enabled
1 entry in spool area
Thu Feb 11 11:26:54 1999: waiting for hplj5.vsc.edu to come up
lp2 goes to a print queue on my NT server and works fine, EXCEPT for the
stair stepping output.

Is there something inherently wrong with my printcap file, or is it an
HP'ism ?
