Hi,
I was reading Lamont Granquist's posting about Digital Engineering developing
the non-exec-stack patch. I was going to install it, but I was a little
bothered by his mentioning that the patch "may cause certain programs (like
compilers) to break." Can anyone point me in the right direction, or explain
to me why the kernel (or other programs) may need the executable stack to
function properly? What is the purpose of the executable stack.
Thanks,
Bill Antoniadis
