hello managers,

we have got two personal workstations 433au with DU 4.0D
without patches. we just switched from 10base2 to twisted
pair, but both machines refuse to run fast ethernet.
the network cards used:

vmunix: tu0: DECchip 21143: Revision: 3.0
vmunix: tu0: auto negotiation capable device
vmunix: tu0 at pci0 slot 3
vmunix: tu0: DEC TULIP (10/100) Ethernet Interface, hardware address: ...

we tried some configurations:

* ewa0_mode FastFD ->
  error while booting:
> tu0: no SROM info for selected media
  we couldn't reach any other machine.

* ewa0_mode Fast ->
  same as above with half-duplex.

* ewa0_mode Auto-Negotiate
  error at boot-prompt:
> ... not supported (!)

all 10baseT configurations worked. we stayed with 10BaseT, Full-Duplex.
the obvious question is: how do i get 100baseTX to work?
i found a posting describing the very same problem in the archive, but
there was no summary. i promise to do better than that.
