Hi TU gurus,
I need you light to solve this problem. I tried yesterday evening to move my
TU (Tru64 Unix) V4.0E patch #1 operating system from an Alpha 2100 to an
Alpha 1000A. In fact I did 2 changes at the same time, because because the
previous SCSI controller was a SWXR (memonic re) and it is now a KZPSC
(memonic rz) as far as I know.
I expected to have to generate a new kernel by booting the genvmunix, and
then to change the links in /etc/fdmns/domains... with ln -s /dev/...
Unfortunatly by booting the genvmunix, and by invoking bcheckrc, I have a
lot of CAM SCSI errors and I'm not able to run doconfig.
Somewhere in the release notes (v40b) I found a comment to CAM errors, and
the following command was suggested:
>>>isp1020_edit -sd
But this doesn't help. I also have on both systems the newest firmware
(5.3-...), so it should be the problem.
The next step would be to restore everything and create new labels on disks.
Is it possible that the previous labels are causing the problem, because
they contain specific hardware informations?
Any hint on this problem is greatly appreciated
