shutting down and shutdown scripts

Hi,

I recall some discussion some time ago about shutting down the system and
ensuring that the K* scripts in /sbin/rc.d/rcn.d/K* are run.

As I recall, it was suggested, and experience suggests, that these scripts
are not run if you use shutdown, while if you use 'init 0' they are.

Can anyone confirm if my faulty memory is correct?

Regards
