Hello gurus,
I've download 2.0.3 version of samba and it's running fine (i.e. no more
core dumped in the shares nor limitations on the file sizes when copying,
seemed to be same problem). Still having some troubles with win9X network
neighborhood, but it's a configuration problem I'm still working on
(subnets, NT domain and routers...).
Many thanks to Richard Sharpe [sharpe_at_ns.aus.com] for his help and tips.
Original post :
Hi gurus,
I'm running samba 2.0.0 (yes it's not the last one) on DU 4.0b (I'm a new
samba user ;-) ). Sometimes, I get a core dumped file in the directory
mapped by samba for the PCs. Big files ( > 1Mb) can't be copied between PCs
and unix boxes. Any tips or workarounds are welcome, the archives of the
list are not helpful nor samba web server FAQ.
Other question : on the 3000 box (192 Mb RAM, DU 4.0b) , the mapping can't
be seen by PCs by clicking on the neighborhood icon; they have to connect a
network drive explicitly. On the 4000 box, (512 Mb RAM, DU 4.0b) no
problem, the mapping can be seen.
TIA
