Shell variable for /var/adm/syslog.dated/this_one?

Hi,
 
What is the quickest way for a shell script to find the current directory
that syslog messages are being written to ?
 
eg:
 
"/var/adm/syslog.dated/16-Mar-21:51"
or
/var/adm/syslog.dated/16-Mar-21\:51
