I have some users who have been getting memory problems with MSC/PATRAN on
DU 4.0D, patch kit 3. I have run sys_check and tuned the virtual memory so
that the virtual address space and data space are each 1 GB. The host is a
PW 433au with 512 MB of memory and 2 GB of swap. My question is, is there
any way to determine what these messages from the kern.log file mean? I
looks like requests for 512 KB and 64 KB of memory failed. Does the hex code
mean anything?
vmunix: malloc failed: bucket size = 524288, #of failures = 1, ra
0xfffffc000047a39c
vmunix: malloc failed: bucket size = 65536, #of failures = 1, ra
0xfffffc000047a39c
Any assistance is appreciated.
Thanks,
Kevin
