We have a 4100 running DU4.0D, DIA2.9, attached to an ESA10000. We are having
problems with disks in a raidset erroring - "Severe Error" level - such
that dia sees them when I do a manual analysis "dia -R".
I installed DECevent to try to get some notification going so that we have
advance warning if something is failing, as we are not able to check this
system as often as we'd like. Subsequent to getting DECevent up, I check
the counts with:
dia shw thr
Today we've seen many "Severe" errors, had ADVFS panics (referenced in
recent posts), but "dia shw thr" shows nothing - indicating that it is not
picking anything up.
So, unless there's some way to up the sensitivity of DECevent, it's not
proving to be particularly useful as a way to be notified of problems - I
could do more with a homegrown script to look at the error log periodically
than by relying on DECevent, the way it is currently working.
sigh... Suggestions welcome...
