Hello,
we have a couple of Digital servers (1000A, Pws 433au; DU4.0D) and a
lot of linux clients. We sometime sometime experience poor nfs
performance between the two platforms, slower than between two linux
boxes. We sometimes also experience better performance between the
Digital server and a linux box when the server is on a 10 Mbit/s
Ethernet (100 Mbit/s normally).
A theory (my) is that that that the Digital servers when heavy loaded
have too little space to keep the fragments in before reassembling. On
linux there are parameters "ipfrag_high_tresh" and "ipfrag_low_thresh"
and on Aix (I believe) there is a parameter "ipqmaxlen" to control
this. Are there any parameters in DEC/TRU64 Unix to control this?
Any other suggestions to how to proceed in order to solve this problem
is appreciated.
Regards
Halvard Moe
