Ordered new cdrom media from compaq, the install failed on same file.
I called support and they said that there was a 2h wait time. So while
I was waiting I took the CDROM off of our VAX, an rrd42, and hooked it
up on our Alpha. It was recognized and I could boot from it.
I did the install from the VAX's cdrom w/ no problem other than it was
REALLY SLOW.
This is my original post.

|Hello Tru64 Unix World -
|
|Yesterday (19990221) I tryed to do a fresh install of digital unix
|(Tru64 unix) onto an Alpha 2000 system. I was trying to install the
|system onto a rz1cb-cs drive.
|
|During the install the system started
|
| cam_logger:CAM_ERROR packet
| cam_logger:bus 0 target 4 lun 0
| cdisk_complete
| Retries Exhausted
|
| HARD error detected
| DEC RRD45 (c) DEC 1645
| Active CCB at time of error
|
| Overrun/underrun error
| cp /shlib/.upd..libc.so: I/O error
|
|It did this on *most* of the file steps during the install. I've
|already tryed cleaning the cdrom disk drive.
|
|Suggestions? Thank you for your time.
