SUMMARY: usermod incongruity

The consensus seems to be to use the following:

/usr/sbin/usermod -x administrative_lock_applied=0 username

My original question:

Why is that when I run usermod on an account the auth entry u_lock_at_ gets
removed? This does not happen to every account - only ones I've added today
with adduser.

I'm running DU4.0b patch 8. The affected accounts are the first to be added
with this patch in place.

Thanks,
