Problem With XP1000 Disk Configuration Application

     Folks-

I'm setting up a new Compaq XP1000 (Alpha, Digital 500au?)
Personal Workstation. The machine came with the O/S preinstalled.
I'm using the graphical set-up widgets and am having trouble with the
Disk Configuration Application. I want to set up the remaining partition
on the root disk (partition h) as an AdvFS partition. I'm doing the
following things:

   - I go into the widget
   - Double click rrz0
   - Set the Usage menu to AdvFS
   - Enter Domain Name and Set Name
   - Click OK.
   - Click OK on the verify dialog box

then I get a dialog box that says:

Error: can't read "dskdir": no such variable

After that the machine is pretty much hung. I can cancel out of the
widget, but the disk partition is not properly made.

I can use the widget to make partition h into a 4.2BSD partition,
and that works just fine. Anybody have any ideas what might be
wrong? I'm planning now to wade through the disklabel and AdvFS
Man pages to see what progress I can make with that approach.

     Thanks-in-advance,

     Mike
