how to configure a replaced Ethernet card

Greetings, I have just replaced my DE435 EtherWORKS PCI (10base) with
DE500BA Fast EtherWORKS PCI (10/100 base).
My Digital UNIX version is 4.0a and I am currently using a 10base-based hub.

When I reboot the OS, I see a message saying that network is unreachable.
So I changed the PCI slot for the card --- first into the slot where the old card was plugged.
Second, I inserted the card into another slot. But no luck. I also tried typing
set ew0a_mode 10baseT or set ew0a_mode twisted-pair etc etc. Again no luck.

At the console mode, I see ewrk3_config. Perhaps I need to delete this file,
but I could not remove it using rm. It says the file is write protected.

I would appreciate any notes.

Thanks,
Kiyoshi
