Hi there,
We have a requirement to provide authentication services between
some Sun Solaris (v7), x86 Linux (SuSE) and Digital UNIX 4.0E
systems. Is there any way that I can get the Solaris and the Linux
boxes to be NIS clients to the Digital UNIX system running Enhanced
Security and acting as the NIS master? Basically, is there a method
of getting the other systems to translate the contents of the
prpasswd map correctly?
Or is my best bet to place the NIS master on one of the others and
get the Digital UNIX systems to authenticate over NIS using just
the passwd (ie Base Security) map? In my experience, I believe this
allows the users logging into the Digital UNIX systems to have the
extended features of Enhanced Security. Is that a correct
assumption?
Many thanks in advance,
-jon.
