DNS woes

Hi admins,

We have a HP Kclass server as a primary DNS server for our
organisation and a DIGITAL 4100 as a secondary server. The DNS is working
fine in all departments except for mail. Users can send mail to other
machines in the domain from the primay mail server. However if I send a
mail from the secondary mail server to any other machine, it fails.
On checking , I found this message in my mailbox :

----- Transcript of session follows -----
421 surya.my.domain (smtpl)... Deferred: Not owner
554 ccheda_at_surya... 550 Host unknown (Authoritative answer from name
server): No
t owner

The server has attached server surya to my.domain , whereas the domain
should be nse.co.in . The mail.log file in /var/adm/syslog.dated has the
following error :

     Apr 16 16:53:40 pushpak sendmail[9942]: Found non-existent host
surya.my.domain
in MX records for surya.my.domain

The mail from the secondary server will go through if the full domain
name of the destination is given in the mail address.
I have checked all my named configuration files and nowhere does the
domain of the form my.domain is found. Does this error related to
sendmail?

TIA

Will summarize.
