Thanks go to T o m L e i t n e r for confirming that the application
is less than smart.
xdpyinfo reports lots of good stuff (make sure that you understand
when the numbers are hex or dec) but when faced with a mickey mouse
application the only choice is....
a) reconfigure the X server.
b) send it back to the supplier with suitable comments.
... I prefer the latter option.
