Guru's,

I'm trolling for opinions. I have a older 2100 that we are going to use as
a "development" box. It will need as much disk space as possible. It has a
single port RAID controller that will hold 7 9Gb drives. What I'm looking
for is opinions/experience for the "fastest" configuration. Here are my
current ideas ( I'll just refer to them as disk 1 -disk 7):
**** I know the first thing is recovery from disk failure but, since it's
non-production I can live with backups ****

disk 1 - JBOD ( OS etc... )
disk 2-7 - RAID 5 ( Data ) mounted as a single AdvFS domain

disk 1 - JBOD ( OS etc... )
disk 2&3 - Stripe mounted as a single AdvFS domain
disk 4&5 - Stripe mounted as a single AdvFS domain
disk 6&7 - Stripe mounted as a single AdvFS domain

disk 1 - JBOD ( OS etc... )
disk 2-7 - JBOD each mounted as a single AdvFS domain

disk 1 - JBOD ( OS etc... )
disk 2-4 - RAID 5 mounted as a single AdvFS domain
disk 5-7 - RAID 5 mounted as a single AdvFS domain

disk 1 - JBOD ( OS etc... )
disk 2-7 - Stripe mounted as a single AdvFS domain

Thanks in advance for any input
