hello gurus,
i am having a serious problem, yesterday i found that my
primary boot disk had gone for a toss, i found that the rz8a had
failed. i have mirrored my root disk ( rz8 is primary & rz9 secondary).
i found that the plex rootvol-01 is in STALE state , the voldisk list
showed that rz8a has error and failed.
therefore i decided to replace the disk with a new disk. Iam using RZ29.
This is what i did (according the LSM Manual)
My os ver is 4.0b.

#volplex dis rootvol-01
#volplex dis swapvol-01

Through the GUI i removed the plex, subdisk, disk.
now my rootdg is clean from rz8 and only contains rz9.
I added the new disk into the ba356 and did the following

#volencap nconfig=0 rz9
 ( i encounter my first error )

/dev/r-c : No such file or directory

Setting up encapsulation for rz9
Cannot encapsulate rz9 since the following disks/partitions are
already in use by LSM: rz9a rz9b rz9e rz9g rz9h

### The error message seemed ok since rz9 was already in LSM so i
continued.
i rebooted the system.

#volrootmir -a rz8

this is the error i get

expr: syntax error
disklabel : /dev/r- : No such file or directory

Error: disk - is an type device while
disk rz8 is an RZ29 type device
Both disks must be of the same type.

Off course i have identical disks.
Did i go wrong any where. any help will be appreciated.
TIA
Umapathy J
