Hi Tru64ers
I've had some more queries about this comment from my recent

I was suprprised by this and I'm still not sure whether to believe
it or not but I'm no hardware expert. I quoted it in my summary
because some replies asked for more information.
Note also that Alan Davis was not claiming authority for it
either - just repeating what he'd been told. He doesn't claim
to be a hardware expert either.
Other knowledgable and reliable sources of information have
expressed doubt about it. I'm not qualified to judge who's
correct. For all I know some hardware types might be pulling
the legs of the software geeks.
(If "pulling the legs" isn't familiar read "taking the mickey",
"having a lend of", "making fools of").
Regards
Ian
