syslogd

I wanted to keep my /var/adm/syslog.dated files in sync with the 'calendar
day', so I put a cron job in my root cron to kill -HUP the syslogd every
night at midnight.

My cluster systems write to the new log files ok, but my two other servers
do not. The new directory and log files are created, but nothing gets
written to them. Anybody aware of why this would not work?
