Hi Managers,
Is there an impact if I restore the /usr filesystem that contain the /usr/users
dir from one server to a fresh new server. Sorry, I was really very new to
Unix. Is just that my Boss asked me to duplicate the production server 8200
4.0d with ASE installed to this new test machine 1200 running 4.0D (standalone)
with the same users. The only difference is that the production server C2
security is not on while the new test machine have C2 security on. My question
is
1. if I also copied the /usr/users dir, does this mean that I dont need to
create the users ?
2 or if I copied the /usr/users dir first, then I create the users, is this
will give any problem? or
3. how about the other way around, that is create all the users first then
restored this /usr/users dir, for sure it would overwritten the files but is
this also will give problem.
I'd like to test this out but I just though that you can give some advise to
make things and process a bit easier for me.
Thanks in advance......./alvin
