I am new to using the Tru64 system, other than running the 3rd party
applications that were installed.
This is probably easy to do -- once I have done it once -- but the first time is
usually a bear.
Here is what I have done so far:
I downloaded the TOP program from the web site, unzipped it in Windows, and
FTPed it to the unix box.
I want to use this program, but am clueless on how to:
-> How do I get it from TAR to source I can compile? (And what directory should
I store the source?)
-> How do I compile the program? (what directory do I compile it to?)
-> Is there anything else I need to do to run it? (security - don't need it on
this one)
I am on version 3.2g, and I know I have a C compiler on this baby, but the 3rd
party vendors are the only ones that have used it.
I did create a Top script that runs different programs, and pulls out
information, but it can't do all a true Top program can do.
Thanks
