vdump error

I know this error [5] I/O error has been mentioned in many posts, with
not a lot of "definitive" answers. But given the small except below, is
there any way of knowing if ALL the files were backed up error free without
having to restore the save set and doing a diff on the files ( unfortunately
I can't even be sure since it contains database files that have most likely
changed already)?
