I'm just in the process on setting up a two node ASE cluster, using ASE 1.5
and UNIX 4.0E (patch kit 1). The systems are using DE500s set in fast mode.
When I use /var/ase/sbin/nfs_ifconfig to set up an alias IP name for a
service via the main interface I get about a 20-25 second delay before it
completes. When adding or modifying services this causes all sorts of
problems with ASE. I have configured several other ASE clusters on our
network - however these are using fddi cards which register the alias
immediately.
My question is has anyone else experienced this kind of problem with the
DE500s or could it be something specific to our network, or the subnet these
systems are in?
