Many thanks to all those who replied to my problem with vrestore not
restoring the original date and time on directories.
We've now had an official response from Digital/Compaq support which states
that (unfortunately) "that's the way it works".
Many people pointed out that it's probably to do with vrestore creating the
directory and then modifying the date/time when
it restores another file to it. That's OK, and we'd already guessed that's
what it was doing, we were simply wondering whether
that's the way it had been designed (if so why wasn't it in the man page),
or whether this was simply something that was
overlooked.
>From the support response, it seems that it was just overlooked, and I'm
told there's no sign of it changing soon.

Again thanks to all for the responses.

Regards,
     Andy.
