Autorepeat on keys through Black Box

{Sigh} The third post in almost as many days..

I have an AlphaServer 2100A connected to my keyboard (an IBM
TrackPoint), mouse (on the kbd), and monitor through a Black
Box 4-port ServSwitch.

When at the SRM console, keys behave normally. When I start up
t64u, though, either standalone from a CD or from an installed
disk, every normal keypress acts as though I'm autorepeating.
That is, I type the key, there's about a 0.10S pause, and then
the same character keeps repeating as though I were holding the
key down. I can get it to stop only by typing the Shift, CTRL,
or other modifier key.

This happens with an AlphaStation 200 as well; at console level
all is well, but t64u thinks I've got repeating keys.

Has anyone else ever encountered this (couldn't find any hints)
or have suggestions about how to fix it? I'll summarise.
