I am getting a message

        ln1: lost carrier: check connection

on a serial terminal connected as console. Everything seems to be
working fine especially the ethernet. Also I noticed this problem
started when I rebooted after cleaning up my network room. Maybe I
should mess it up again?

Also ifconfig produces:

#ifconfig ln1
ln1: flags=c63<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,MULTICAST,SIMPLEX>

In other words it looks like it is not even being used.

#ifconfig ln0
ln0: flags=c63<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,MULTICAST,SIMPLEX>
     inet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx netmask ffffff00 broadcast xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ipmtu 1500
Any help would be appreciated.
