Q: How to stop Unverified Mail

Hi Everyone,

I'm sorry for the slightly off-topic question, but I'm seeking advise from
all of you Sendmail gurus running on DEC Alpha systems. I'm running
Sendmail 8.8.8 with anti-relay filters in place on DU 4.0b -- soon to be
upgraded. My clients are using POP3 (version 2.53) in conjunction with
Eudora Light. My hardware is an Alpha 1000.

QUESTION:

How hard would it be to stop mail that is marked as "Unverified" in the
X-sender address? What are the dangers associated with stopping this sort
of mail? Are any of you out there doing this?

I already know that legitimate mail can be marked as Unverified if the user
hasn't provided their password prior to sending mail. At least this is the
case in our environment. The reason for this question is that a student
recently spoofed a faculty members mailing address and sent a libelous
message out to the rest of the faculty. The injured party is justifiably
furious. As a remedy, he is demanding that we stop ALL unverified mail.

Thanks for any insight you can provide,
