Greetings.

Shortly after we delivered the Tru64 UNIX V4.0F media and documentation into
our manufacturing process, we discovered that the wrong content was submitted
for the Release Notes manual. Unfortunately, we discovered this too late to
correct it before update kits were manufactured and shipped to subscribers.

The version on the documentation CDROM media and on our documentation Web site
are both correct. Only the printed version was wrong, and the errors in the
printed version are primarily omissions of information that should have been
in the printed version that were in the on-line versions.

To assure that valued customers (such as yourselves) who receive media kits
or documentation update kits would have the correct printed version of the
V4.0F Release Notes, we've reprinted the document with the correct content.

The corrected version should have been shipped to everyone who received the
incorrect version, either in a media kit or a documentation update kit. The
differences between the original manual and the updated manual are minor.

The only obvious external difference between the two books is the part number
on the title page and the back cover. The version shipped in the media kits
has part number AA-QTLME-TE; the corrected manual has part number AA-QTLMF-TE.

When you receive the corrected manual, please replace the old AA-QTLME-TE with
the new AA-QTLMF-TE, and discard the old manual.

The corrected manual will be delivered in all future new media kits and as the
component of documentation kits. And, of course, you can order a copy if you
did not receive a media kit or documentation update through our subscription
services.

We apologize for any inconvenience this error may have caused.

Tom
