First off, thanks to everyone (listed later) who has responded already
to answer some questions;
- I found out I did have the SMP license (2nd OSF-BASE) loaded
already. I have 75 units loaded now.
- the system was installed after the 2nd CPU was installed
- I do have SER_COMPAT and UNIX_LOCKS in my config file
-psrinfo returns;
# psrinfo -v
Status of processor 1 as of: 06/08/99 14:21:20
Processor has been on-line since 06/08/1999 13:58:35
The alpha EV6 (21264) processor operates at 500 MHz,
and has an alpha internal floating point processor.
and some more trouble shooting that I performed with John Speno's assistance
right after the system was shutdown, "show CPU" (from teh boot prompt) returned;
Primary CPU 01
Active CPUs 01
Configured CPUs 01
SROM Revision V1.82
after I hit the reset button and it went through it's POST
Primary CPU 00
Active CPUs 00 01
Configured CPUs 00 01
SROM Revision V1.82 V1.82
so Unix "turned one CPU off" ??????
Any more ideas?
