Mixed Language Programming

Dear osf/alpha people,

Does anyone have refereces to or examples of mixed language programming .
In particular,I am looking for referances which would help me to call a
fortran program from a C++ program.And is there any way I can call
the dos executable Fortran program with the input file as its parameter.

Any suggestion would be of a great help.
